DAY 1FROM-TO: Tampa to Vero Beach: MILES: 140
OF INTEREST: After we pick out our Harley in Tampa, we head
for the Atlantic Ocean and Kennedy Space Center @ Cape Canaveral.
Then we roar on down the coast for lunch at famous Cocoa
Beach. We follow the inland passage in the afternoon through
Melbourne and on to Vero Beach.
DAY 2 FROM-TO: Vero Beach to Miami: MILES: 142
OF INTEREST: We rise refreshed after a good nights sleep
in the cedar log cabin nested in the pine forest. Today
we pass through some of the most famous vacation beach spots
in the world - West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale
- and on into Maimi for the hot Cuban night-life.
DAY 3 FROM-TO: Miami to Sugarloaf Key: MILES: 150
OF INTEREST: Say good-bye to Miami and hello to the Caribbean
on your right and the Atlantic on your left as we split
the two oceans with a 100 mile ride through the beautiful
Florida Keys. We ride our iron steeds into Key Largo for
lunch and then on to Sugarloaf and party scene in Key West.
DAY 4 FROM-TO: Rest Day: MILES: 0
OF INTEREST: Today we rest and hang out in the notorious
Key West. Great town for shoping, partying, scuba-diving,
snorkeling, sailing, windsurfing.
DAY 5 FROM-TO: Sugarloaf to Naples: MILES: 230
OF INTEREST: We get up early and head north back through
the Keys, the Orchid Jungle, and the Monkey Jungle. We roar
across the everglades and Big Cypress National Preserve
and the gulf side of Florida to Naples where we spend the
night.
DAY 6 FROM-TO: Naples to St. Petersburg/Madeira Beach:
MILES: 150
OF INTEREST: Today we ride up the west coast - maybe check
out the beautiful Sanibel Island or head into Cape Coral
or Fort Meyers for lunch. Then a beautiful afternoon ride
along the Gulf of Mexico, though Venice, Crescent Beach,
Sarasota and finally into the lush Madeira Beach for our
last night of the tour.
DAY 7 FROM-T O: Madeira Beach to Tampa: MILES: 40
OF INTEREST: After a short ride along the Redington Beach,
we head inland at Indian Rocks Beach and catch the Interstate
back into Tampa to check in the bikes and say Bon Voyage
to our guides and friends and to a great tour of Florida.
